Polymer experts meet at "Coko" in Bad Salzuflen

"Our staff are our best assets"

At the meeting of the network "Kunststoffe in OWL" about 100 polymer experts met at the Coko-Werk GmbH & Co. KG in Bad Salzuflen. COE Klaus-Wilhelm Dreskrüger told about innovations at the Bad Salzuflen site as well as in Poland and in Turkey. In Cerkezköy, near Istanbul, Coko started the production in its own factory building at the beginning of this year. 3.200 dish washers leave the production line every day. In Lodz, Poland, Coko manufactures technical polymer parts with about 250 employees in three shifts. Here too the activities are expanded with a second enameling line. In addition to that Coko plans to build a further production hall. Dreskrüger: "The competition in Poland and in Turkey is fierce and should be taken seriously. Many challenges await us in those two countries."

He also sees challenges at the Bad Salzuflen site. After the crisis year of 2009 the portfolio of the company was modified; in the previous year the sales trend has risen by 20 percent. "Especially in the field of human resources development we gained from innovative changes", says Dreskrüger. The management of Coko has been restructured. The COE sees an important task in a sensitive personnel management. "The team are our assets. With enthusiastic employees we create the stable basis for further improvements."
Coko is a small business which as a system supplier produces and mounts high-quality shell parts made of thermoplastic materials, e.g. white goods, as well as technical plastic parts for the automobile, machine, electrical and leisure industry but also for further areas. From the construction of a plastic article to toolmaking and enameling and mounting everything is from a single source at Coko. At three locations about 800 staff members are employed and in 2010 a total annual sales of more than 100 million € could be reached.
