Nationwide meeting of chief engineers polymer engineering in Paderborn scientific exchange and networking

Chief engineers of the polymer departments met invited by Dr. Martin Schäfers, chief engineer of Polymer Engineering Paderborn, KTP. “At the meeting we used the possibility to present our research activities and to further the networking”, says Schäfers.

The chair holders, for which the chief engineers work, are organized in the “Wissenschaftlicher Arbeitskreis Kunststofftechnik”, WAK. WAK is an association of 30 university professors of polymer engineering. The aim of the Arbeitskreis is to promote polymer engineering scientifically and professionally: The members exchange experiences with other persons, institutions and research associations, coordinate university research interests and establish and maintain contacts to research institutes, organizations and funding institutions. Furthermore, the professors maintain contacts to industrial enterprises and industrial associations and engage in public relations for the interests of polymer engineering.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Elmar Moritzer and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volker Schöppner, both Polymer Engineering Paderborn, are members of WAK.
