The main focus of work is on the concentration of effective improvement and development of polymer technical processings and detailed descriptions and analyses on which basis further development and optimizations can be performed.

The focuses are on:

• Simulation and optimization of plasticizing units like single screw-, equally twisted- or twin screw extruders, spray-cast machines
• The joining method: Rubbing-, Heating-, Laserbeam-, Ultrasonic-, and Microwave Welding
• Extrusion and non-standard spray-cast processing
• Tool concepts: wide-slot-, wendel-distribution tools, tools for GIT, die head for blow moulding machines, recent tool concepts
• Manufacturing of thermoplastics and thermosets

• Since 2004 in charge of the department of polymer processing at the University of Paderborn as emeritus, at the same time supervision of the professorship of “polymer technology”.

• From January 1980 to 2004 in charge of the KTP and coordinator of the professorship of “polymer technology”, from October 1982 until October 1983 dean of the faculty of engineering at the University of Paderborn

• From July 1974 to December 1979 academical counsel, professorship and member of the directorate at the Department of polymer processing in industry and trade (IKV) at the RWTH Aachen, with branch of study in joining, refining, plastic deformation
• From 1971 till 1974 in charge of the laboratory for polymer process technology and the engineer section “polymer advice, manufacturing and clients” in the company Westfälische Metallindustrie KG Hueck&Co, nowadays Hella in Lippstadt. There his focuses were processing of spray-casting, substancial development, elastomeres, thermosets and moulded parts in combination with refining operations like varnishing, vacuum metallization electroplating etc., part-time work as a physician teacher at a grammar school
• October 1971 graduation at the IKV of the RWTH Aachen with the topic “Untersuchung der Schweißbarkeit thermoplastischer Kunststoffe mit Ultraschall”
