The main focus of work is on the concentration of effective improvement and development of polymer technical processings and detailed descriptions and analyses on which basis further development and optimizations can be performed.

The focuses are on:

• Simulation and optimization of plasticizing units like single screw-, equally twisted- or twin screw extruders, spray-cast machines
• The joining method: Rubbing-, Heating-, Laserbeam-, Ultrasonic-, and Microwave Welding
• Extrusion and non-standard spray-cast processing
• Manufacturing of thermoplastics and thermosets

• Since 2007: professorship of polymer processing
• 1999-2007 hired in different positions at the Hella KGaA, Lippstadt (automotive supplier), last time responsible for headlamps
• 1994-1995 research engineer at the Barmag AG, Remscheid (Extrusion engineering)
• 1989-1999 academic employee and chief engineer at the Department of polymer processing at the University of Paderborn, meanwhile graduation in 1995 with the topic “Simulation der Plastifiziereinheit von Einschneckenextrudern” and state doctorate in 2000 with the topic “Verfahrenstechnische Auslegung von Extrusionsanlagen”
• Graduate as diploma engineer at the University of Paderborn
